a very special episode
the kind you can watch with your folks
there’s something sentimental
anecdotal
i’m gonna go through the motions again
she really likes the song i wrote
that hi-hat on the quarter note
self-referential, confessional
i’m gonna go through the motions again
searching all over creation
sweeten the deal
saccharine and masturbation
a very special episode
a message that’s shoved down your throat
open wider, moral fiber
i’m gonna go through the motions again
she really likes the riffs i write
the hammer-ons, the bends and slides
kick on the distortion pedal,
crank the levels
i’m gonna go through the motions again
searching all over creation
sweeten the deal
saccharine and masturbation
searching all over creation
sweeten the deal
saccharine and masturbation

The real Speed of Sound in Seawater is fast... relatively. This album is the same in that it goes by too fast and you are already putting it on repeat again. :p jason hankins

Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
